Privacy notice

Internet Commerce

This online store is designed to give you options concerning the privacy of your person and your credit card information, address, e-mail and any other information you provide us. Digicon is committed to data security with respect to information collected on our site. We offer the industry's best high-level security measures available, through your browser called SSL encryption (described below). If at any time you would like to make a purchase, but do not want to provide your credit card information online, you may place an order with us and our representative will contact you. Alternatively, you may always contact one of our sales representatives over the telephone. Phone 1-800-610-SPEC (7732). It is always a Digicon practice to contact our customers in the event of a potential problem with your purchase in order to obtain your clarification or confirmation.

Your Personal and Private Security

Providing you with a secure online experience is a high priority at Digicon. We recognize that your privacy and security are of the utmost importance, and we have devoted a great deal of effort and cost to ensure that your personal and financial information is safeguarded. Your transactions are not only supported by industry-standard data encryption, but also protected by our Secure Shopping Policy (SSP).

Digicon's SSP helps to cover you against unauthorized charges on your credit card. We understand that it is important to have the same confidence when you use your credit card online as you do when you order by phone. That's why we offer our SSP to help protect you. Here are the primary steps we take to ensure that your purchase is safe:

  • Our online store uses data encryption to help protect your credit card number and personal information. Encryption is a process by which we use software to scramble your credit card number and personal information so that they're unreadable by anyone but the site.
  • We validate the information provided by our customers with their respective financial institution to protect you from unauthorized charges to your account resulting from purchases on our site.
  • The result: When you buy online through our site, you can buy with confidence.

Store Security - Safer Transmissions

Positive identification. Our ordering website is registered with site identification authorities to enable your browser to confirm our store's identity before any transmission is sent. With this technology, the identity of our site is automatically confirmed behind the scenes prior to the transmission of any customer information. Your browser will notify you (prior to your sending any personal information) that the potential receiving site looks suspicious and should be avoided.

Data encryption. If you are using a security-enabled browser (such as Microsoft Internet Explorer version 2.1 or greater, or Netscape Navigator version 2.0 or greater), the information you send us regarding your purchase is encrypted, making it extremely difficult to read even if it is wrongly intercepted. Our use of industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to allow for the encryption of: potentially sensitive information such as your name, address and critically sensitive information like your credit card number and expiry date. Standing behind our security technology, Digicon also provides the SSP, helping to ensure that you are protected every time you buy online with us. If you are still uncomfortable with submitting your personal information via the Internet for any reason, please feel free to contact us over the phone or by fax to complete your order. Phone: 1-800-610-7732 Fax: 1-855-495-9052.

Our Store Security - Help Protect Yourself

If you use a security-enabled browser (as described above) paying attention to two browser features will decrease the chances for the unintended or fraudulent use of your personal information.

Browser security settings. Your browser security preference settings are your first line of defense to stopping the theft or unwanted viewing of confidential, personal information. The most popular browsers offer you the ability to receive an alert or notification if any of the following happen or are about to occur:

  • changing between secure and insecure transmission modes,
  • receiving an invalid site identification for the site to which you are about to transmit, and
  • sending a transmission over an "open" or unsecured connection.

Check the settings of your browser security features to see all the checks that are possible and those that are currently in place.

Browser security signals. The presence of security measures surrounding the entry of data on a web page is identified in several ways for you on your browser:

  • the URL identifying the page will always begin with "https://" versus the normal "http://",
  • a security symbol to indicate operation in a mode that supports secure transmissions,
  • a "closed lock" icon is present in the bottom right-hand corner of your Microsoft Internet Explorer browser screen, or an
  • "unbroken key" icon appearing in the lower left-hand corner of the Netscape Navigator browser screen

Encryption Protection

We hope that once you understand the measures we employ and the steps you can take to protect yourself, you'll be as confident about the security of your transactions and personal information as we are.

What is Encryption? Encryption is a process by which we use software to scramble sensitive information while it is in transit to our site. Please take a moment to read about the steps that we have taken to help protect your information and make your online transmissions safer. We also invite you to review the steps you can take to help protect yourself further.

How Does Encryption Work? Encryption is based on a key that has two different parts. A public part of the key is distributed to those you want to communicate with. A private part is for the recipient's use only. When you send personal information to this site, you use our public key to encrypt your personal information. That means, if at any point during the transmission your information is intercepted, it is scrambled and very difficult to decrypt. Once we receive your encrypted personal information, we use the private part of our key to decode it.

What Kind of Encryption Software does our site Use? We currently use the industry-standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption. But we continue to keep up with the current technologies in order to provide the best security for our customers.

What Information Does pir site Encrypt? We encrypt all personal information you give us when you place an order online. Remember, if you feel uncomfortable providing any of this information online, please feel free to contact one of our representatives at the phone or fax numbers above.
